The exhibition making of takes a look behind the scenes of the handicraft of make-up artists. It shows finished works and how they originated by way of photographs, masks, costumes, colours and materials. Represented are The Praying Mantis from Birgit Mörtl, Where the Wild things are from Tatjana Ivschina, Quotes from Paul Merchant and Mad Eye Moody from Shaune Harrison.
Brendan Gleeson is a wonderful Irish actor who completely brought Mad Eye Moody from the Harry Potter runs to life in the films. Shaune Harrison applied his make-up 58 times for the “Goblet of Fire”. Twelve quotes from some of the most influential artists of all time inspired Paul Merchant for the various looks for Quotes, the KRYOLAN calendar 2017. With the opera “Where the Wild Things Are“ the German Opera on the Rhine again brings an imaginative and fast paced family opera to the stage. Costume and set designer Tatjana Ivschina takes care of the stage decor. Since 1997, the artist Birgit Mörtl has been committed to the world-famous top charity event, the Life Ball in Vienna. The praying mantis is one of the figures here.
