After the resounding success of the first two Make-Up Artist Design Shows in Düsseldorf, this trade fair for stage and beauty make-up artists will now be held for the third time, on 10 and 11 March 2012. Last year 2,300 trade visitors were amazed at the widely diversified range that was covered. With its hands-on practical emphasis and an attractive mixture of workshops, professional development and a trade fair, the Make-Up Artist Design Show will present a truly exclusive atmosphere again.

Hollywood comes to Düsseldorf
A special touch of stage glamour will be added by various stars at the Make-Up Artist Design Show. Running under the motto “Hollywood Meets Düsseldorf”, top celebrities of the industry will be personally available at the Lecture Forum, sharing with visitors their work in the film industry, on TV and at the theatre. Well-know make-up artists will be showing their skills and giving valuable tips for everyday life. A Creative Workshop will be held, with detailed demonstrations of new skills and a genuinely practical focus. Visitors can watch professionals as they practice their craft and encourage their audiences to try out new materials and techniques. This year’s programme will focus on special effects, hair, beards and body painting. Another highlight will be an impressive make-up exhibition by Wolfgang Utzt, a legend among make-up artists.

A wide range and a creative young generation
The 50 brands and exhibitors at the Make-Up Artist Design Show will cover a broad spectrum, including special effects, make-up, wigs, hair pieces, tools, the sculpting of faces and bodies and also tools and accessories for the creation of masks. The trade fair will be accompanied by various prize-giving ceremonies, such as the Golden Mask. This award is intended for make-up artists who have shown special dedication, who have produced artistically significant masks or who have become renowned for their extraordinary oeuvre. The younger generation, too, will be presenting its creative skills. After last year’s successful première of the German Championship for Trainee Make-up Artists, this contest will now be held for the second time. The international jury is already looking forward to some unique, witty and imaginative works on the topic of “Underwater Worlds”. In previous years visitors and exhibitors at the Make-Up Artist Design Show in Düsseldorf praised the professional quality of the accompanying programme, the high standards of the show and a unique atmosphere for an exchange of ideas and discussions among colleagues. Trade visitors from famous European theatres, opera houses, TV studios and film studios met for a lively exchange in Düsseldorf.

As before, the Make-Up Artist Design Show 2012 will be running in parallel with two major service trade fairs for the cosmetics and hair industries: BEAUTY INTERNATIONAL, a leading trade fair for cosmetics professionals, and TOP HAIR International Trend & Fashion Days, the leading event for hairdressers. These fairs, too, will be worth a visit as their programmes will be equally wide-ranging, covering numerous products required by make-up artists.

Services provided at the Make-Up Artist Design Show
The Make-Up Artist Design Show in Düsseldorf will provide a wide range of services for visitors. No charges will be made for on-site child care (from age 3), cloakroom facilities and left luggage. Public transport will be free within the local transport area VRR (with valid entrance ticket). Moreover, cheap offers will be available for anyone coming by rail (Deutsche Bahn), from €109, and there will be special packages from €99 covering an entrance ticket and hotel accommodation.
